Online Event: This closed network connects academic researchers with archivists, librarians and curators across private and cultural sectors to explore work on institutional links with the historical slave trade.
October’s network event features a talk from Dr Philippa Hellawell, who will speak about her work on the PASSAGE project, at The National Archives.
PASSAGE includes a collections-based research project on histories of enslavement through the lens of British slave ships (1760–1807), using collections at The National Archives. This is combined with an international research mobility programme that centres and financially supports the work of West African and Caribbean archivists and researchers on the history of transatlantic slavery (as detailed here).
